Active research projects on vein solutions
Since we are very interested in medical progress, and in research involving new and traditional methods of treatment for venous disease, our physicians and also the non-medical staff are constantly trained intensively throughout the year in the course of many national and international congresses involving these topics.
However, we do not just profit from the results of others' research, but are active in vein treatment research ourselves.
At present, the following scientific research is being carried out by our institute and in the vein clinic in a bid to develop new and more effective vein solutions:
- Diagnostic and prognostic value of thermography involving pre and postoperative applications in relationship to the elimination of insufficient truncal and perforans veins
- Long-term observations of patients following surgeries involving an ulcus cruris and simultaneous lipotransfer under the lesion (= is an autologous fat injection to the patient under the site of a leg ulcer which we closed beneficial for the patient?)
- Application of hot steam injections simultaneous with the use of radiofrequency in the region of recurrent varicosis of the cross and the perforans veins
- Diagnostic significance of the pre and postoperatively performed light reflection rheography
Furthermore, in our small institute, surgeons are instructed annually in the modern techniques, students are trained and supervised, and surgical nurses/orderlies as well as surgical technical assistants are instructed in these techniques.
All of this is carried out under the auspices of very stringent quality management.
